‘Ocean with David Attenborough’: Screening & Discussion

wednesday 15th october, 6.00pm - 8.00pm
European Parliament, Brussels

Screening of the film Ocean with David Attenborough in the European Parliament: This powerful film exposes the devastating impact of bottom trawling and shares the stories of small-scale fishers whose livelihoods are being destroyed by this destructive practice.

At the European Parliament, a special screening of highlights from the original documentary, Ocean, will set the stage for a high-level panel discussion. This event will dive into the pressing challenges facing our seas and raise awareness among politicians and policymakers to emphasise the urgent need to enforce existing regulations, implement EU standards effectively, and advocate for new legislation. Central to this is a push for a blanket ban on bottom trawling in Marine Protected Areas, with the aim of securing its inclusion in the upcoming EU Ocean Act.

The event will be held in English.

Co-hosted by:
